Michael W. Maddin Recognized as Leader in the Law by Michigan Lawyers Weekly

Maddin Hauser is pleased to announce that Michael W. Maddin has been recognized among Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s Leaders in the Law for 2017.

Leaders in the Law are honored for their significant legal accomplishments and contributions, their leadership in improving the Michigan justice system, their efforts to seek improvements in the legal and local community and the example they set for other lawyers.

The announcement was made by the firm’s President and CEO, Steven D. Sallen. “The firm congratulates Michael Maddin on this well-deserved recognition. With the leadership he has continuously provided in every aspect of his practice throughout his long and successful career, combined with his significant contributions to the legal community and numerous charitable organizations, Michael is the epitome of a Leader in the Law,” said Sallen.

President Emeritus, shareholder, Executive Committee member and a founder of the firm, Maddin has been practicing law for over 50 years, primarily in the areas of real estate, corporate, business, estate planning and probate law. For 28 years, he served as Maddin Hauser’s Managing Partner and then President/CEO.

Maddin’s accomplishments for clients extend from local to national matters, as well as many unique transactions deemed “not possible” or “too difficult.” His colleagues recognize his ability to focus, develop consensus and negotiate, as well as his efficiency in completing projects.

Committed to excellence in the practice of law, Maddin seeks to improve the legal community through his work in various legal organization memberships. He is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and member of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. For many years, Maddin also served as Chairman of the Commercial Leasing and Management Committee of the Real Property Law Section, as well as Council Coordinator of the Real Property Council of the State Bar of Michigan. He is a member of the American Bar Association, and a sustaining member of the Oakland County Bar Association.

The Board of Directors of the American Bar Foundation (ABF) and Fellows Officers elected Maddin as a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation in recognition of his exemplary dedication to the legal profession, commitment to the work of the American Bar Foundation, and support for the organization’s ideals and objectives.

Maddin has shared his knowledge and guidance by speaking at numerous ICSC, ICLE, National Business Institute and State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section Seminars, and he has authored numerous real estate articles in professional journals. He has been continuously selected by his peers for inclusion in the annual edition of Best Lawyers in America® since 2003 in the area of real estate law and has been listed as a Top Lawyer by DBusiness Magazine. He has also been named among the top 100 Michigan Super Lawyers, and has been awarded special recognition by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. He has been President or Chairman of numerous civic, charitable or fraternal organizations and major groups.
