JEAN MITCHELL-WALSTER, paralegal, leverages her thorough command of legal knowledge in the matters she handles as a member of our Complex Litigation and Risk Advisory and Financial Services and Real Property Litigation practice groups.

Highly organized with a keen eye for details, Jean supports attorneys and clients through every phase of a dispute, from initial case assessment and pleadings through discovery, trial preparation, and resolution. She deftly manages document-intensive discovery, coordinates productions, organizes deposition and trial materials, and tracks court deadlines and filing requirements. Jean’s extensive experience responding to subpoenas makes her a vital member of Maddin Hauser’s Subpoena Management Assessment Response Team (SMART).

Attorneys and clients alike rely on Jean to keep complex, fast-moving matters organized and ensure that deadlines are met. A highly accomplished paralegal, Jean’s credentials include being a Certified Paralegal (CP), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®).

Jean is active in the legal community, serving as a member of Oakland Community College’s Paralegal Program ABA advisory board, as well as being a paralegal studies tutor. She is also an engaged member of the National Association of Legal Assistants, serving on the CP Examination Development Commission as a volunteer essay grader for the Certified Paralegal certification exam.
