David M. Saperstein to Guide Visually Impaired Runner in Upcoming Half Marathon

10.13.16

Being legally blind doesn’t stop 60-year-old Geri Feigelson from reaching for her goals. An avid walker, Geri has always wanted to complete a half marathon.

With the assistance of David M. Saperstein as her guide, Geri will participate in the Detroit Free Press/Talmer Bank Priority Health International Half-Marathon, which takes place on October 16th in both downtown Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, crossing the Ambassador Bridge and Detroit-Windsor Tunnel.

David’s recent sermon at B’nai Israel Synagogue in West Bloomfield Township inspired Geri to ask him to be her guide. Drawing upon his experience running marathons for 10 years, David will be Geri’s eyes, leading her safely through the course.
